Gregory Skolozdra is a New York City-based artist who specializes in whimsical light sculpture installations that celebrate the patterns and beauty of nature. He graduated magna cum laude from the New York Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Architecture. While a student, he won Second Prize in the Long Island Lighting Company Architecture Design Competition for environmentally friendly design.
In addition to architecture, Skolozadra also studied drawing, painting, and sculpture at the Stevenson Academy of Traditional Art, the Art Students League, and the Sculpture Centre. Skolozdra’s fantastical environments of glowing flowers, crystals, and mushrooms have been at major events featuring musicians such as Moby, the Psychedelic Furs, and Pattie Smith. His work has also been featured at numerous art festivals including Burning Man, PEX Summer Festival, Figment, and Escape to New York.
The magical illuminated gardens Skolozdra has fashioned for RCAG are his most elaborate to date, filling three separate locations above ground-floor entrances to The Origin (169 Enterprise).
