This Year marks the 28th anniversary of the CTV Toy Mountain Campaign, which supports The Salvation Army and their quest to provide help and hope to families struggling to make ends meet. Every year, we invite businesses, schools, organizations, community groups and our Downtown Markham community to become partners to collect toys – and to help build Toy Mountain.
On Friday December 15th, CTV and Toy Mountain will broadcast live from the Pride of Canada Carousel at 8080 Birchmount Road in Downtown Markham. The event will run from 5 to 8 p.m. and will be broadcast live on CTV News at Six between 6 and 7 p.m.
Markham Fire Department will be on hand as well as The Salvation Army Band. We will be serving up hot chocolate and delicious treats for everyone who will join and want to partake in the event, drop off donations and take a spin on the Carousel!
How Can I Help?
You can also drop off your donation of a new, unwrapped toy or teen gift at the Pride of Canada Carousel during our operating hours, weekends from 12 – 5 p.m., and receive a free ride until Friday December 15th.
We are grateful for all the toys that are donated, but kindly do not forget the tweens, teens, and babies. We often fall short on gifts for these age groups so please consider these children when selecting a toy to donate. Here are some ideas of appropriate items for tweens and teens.
Tweens and teens (10 and up): curling irons, digital music players, hair dryers, hair kits, makeup kits, jewelry, electronics, books, hoodies, sporting goods, backpacks, school supplies, board games, scarves, gloves, and gift cards.
