Halloween Howl 4.0 is coming to the Pride of Canada Carousel — and it’s going to be spook-tacular!
On Sunday, October 19, 2025 (11 AM – 5 PM), Markham Dog Alliance, in partnership with Downtown Markham, will be hosting the ultimate Halloween playground for pups and their people. Dress your dog in their best costume and join the parade, strike a pose for frightfully cute photo-ops, and enter fun contests for a chance to win wickedly good prizes.
But that’s not all — this year’s Howl brings together a curated mix of local vendors you won’t want to miss. Sip on cozy brews from Bwood Coffee, indulge in decadent chiffon cakes from C’est La Vie Chiffon, or grab a juicy burger from Mustache Burger before treating yourself to mochi donuts from Marry Me Mochi. For your four-legged friends, stock up on drool-worthy snacks from Pluto’s Pure Delights, adorable accessories from Barkington Co., and wellness goodies from Bark at the Moon Naturals.
This free, family-friendly, and dog-approved event is transit accessible and offers free parking — making it easy for everyone to join the fun.

What started as a small community group has quickly grown into one of York Region’s most exciting event organizers for dog lovers and beyond. Officially registered as a business in 2023, Markham Dog Alliance has already hosted more than 50 events, collaborated with over 300 local businesses, and raised more than $20,000 for charities and non-profits — and they’re just getting started!
In 2024 alone, their events attracted over 20,000 guests, with their signature Barkham Festival drawing an incredible 7,000–9,000 attendees. From lively dog parades to creative community markets, MDA continues to bring people (and pups!) together in fun and meaningful ways.

Their vibrant purple logo, designed by friends at Toronto Wrapture, features their “furever CEO” Ellie — the inspiration behind the colour choice, which was also the colour of her very first leash. It’s a symbol of the heart and spirit that drives everything they do.
