At Downtown Markham, supporting the community we call home has always been important to us. As Thanksgiving approaches, we are reminded of the difference we can make when neighbours, businesses and community organizations come together to help those in need.
This fall, Downtown Markham is proud to partner with Solestop and the Solestop Run Club (SSRC) for a community food drive in support of the Markham Food Bank.
From September 14 to October 12, 2026, residents, runners, customers and visitors are invited to donate non-perishable food and essential items. Every donation—no matter how big or small—will help fill the shelves of the Markham Food Bank and support local individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
Donate and Enjoy a FREE Carousel Ride
As a special thank-you, everyone who drops off a donation at Solestop will receive a complimentary ride ticket for the Pride of Canada Carousel in Downtown Markham.
Donors visiting Solestop can also add their names to the community donation wall and watch it grow throughout the campaign. Each name represents someone who chose to give back and serves as a meaningful reminder of what we can accomplish together.
