Celebrate Canada Day in the Heart of Markham

Gather with family and friends for one of Markham’s most anticipated summer traditions. Enjoy an afternoon and evening filled with live performances, interactive family activities, local vendors, food trucks, and exciting entertainment for all ages before ending the night with a spectacular fireworks display at 10:00 PM.

Families can also enjoy the Pride of Canada Carousel, featuring $1 rides all day, along with complimentary popcorn while supplies last.

Live Entertainment

This year’s Canada Day celebration features an exciting lineup of Canadian talent, hosted throughout the day with music from crowd favourite DJ DevoDLive, who will keep the energy high between performances.

At 7:40 PM, Canadian pop star Alyssa Reid takes the stage. Reid first captured international attention with her chart-topping debut single “Alone Again,” which sold more than one million copies worldwide. Since then, she has earned multi-platinum success, toured internationally, and written songs for artists including Alessia Cara and bülow. Following her 2015 album Phoenix, Reid explored a more personal and experimental sound under the alias ASHS before returning with new music that blends her signature pop style with a renewed sense of honesty and creativity.

The celebration continues with Canada’s Queen of R&B, Jully Black, headlining the evening at 8:55 PM. A multi-JUNO Award-winning artist, acclaimed songwriter, actress, and one of CBC Music’s 25 Greatest Canadian Singers Ever, Jully Black has spent more than 25 years captivating audiences with her powerful voice and unforgettable performances alongside artists including Alicia Keys, Elton John, Celine Dion, and Drake.

No Canada Day celebration is complete without great food. Explore a variety of food trucks and vendors serving favourites from around the world, including burgers, hot dogs, tacos, BBQ, Filipino and Cambodian skewers, poke bowls, bubble waffles, tornado fries, kettle corn, mochi, ice cream, coffee, lemonade, sugar cane juice, and more.
