Foot Locker Canada’s newest Power Store has opened its doors in Downtown Markham. The new larger location, the third of its kind for the iconic sportswear brand following recent Power Store launches in Vancouver and downtown Toronto, is a hub for local sneaker culture, art, music and sports.
The concept focuses on building community and creating a conversation with consumers regarding their needs in order to elevate the shopping experience, perfectly aligning with DTM’s slogan: “Connect. Inspire. Thrive.”
Foot Locker’s new 5,560 square foot space, highlighted by an exterior of vibrantly coloured art murals, offers a larger selection of footwear and clothing for men, women and children. In addition to top labels, the store also showcases new local label, Crane Apparel.
“Markham is one of the fastest growing communities just outside of Toronto and where our store is located is on the tip of three different towns coming together so when we looked at that, we really thought about where our consumer was going,” Johnathan Robillard, VP for North GEO at Foot Locker, told Retail Insider. “So, this is definitely why we have targeted this area.”
Located on the south side of 179 Enterprise Boulevard, west of Golf Town and beneath Cineplex + VIP Theatres, Foot Locker joins a DTM lineup that includes retail influencers Capsule and Solestop, creating a powerful destination for sneakerheads and streetwear lovers.
DTM’s Foot Locker Power Store also offers some unique shopping experiences with a Call ‘n’ Collect Window for easy pick-up and soon a digital screen inside the store where you can view the store’s menu and receive community updates. The store also offers free Wi-Fi to associates and customers and mobile pay options to avoid cashier lineups.
