The Pride of Canada Carousel played host to CTV’s Toy Mountain at this year’s rink opening, kicked off with remarks from Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti, MC Aaron Madar, and a donation from Markham Fire, generous contributions from Markham citizens and community groups helped CTV exceed this year’s goal of 150,000 toys. performances from local community groups such as Town Centre Private Schools choir and brass band, a Santa & Elf Sing-Along, another incredible demonstration by Markham Skating Club and performances by local singing duo Caardia. The fun continued all weekend with free carousel rides, crafts, public skating (with warming hut), and hot chocolate and treats provided by generous sponsors No Frills, Alectra Utilities, Mainly Mac and Terre Rouge Craft Kitchen.
