Downtown Markham truly became the Place to Be Entertained as Cineplex Cinemas opened its doors on Friday, April 3, 2015. The unveiling of the new state-of-the-art Cineplex complex – the area’s newest and most-cutting edge movie theatre featuring IMAX and D-BOX motion seats – represents the first step in the launch of the Phase 1 of retail and entertainment in Downtown Markham.
Cineplex will be joined by retailers like RBC, Aroma Espresso Bar, Me Va Me, Chatime, and Curry’s Artists Materials later this year.

The Cineplex theatre complex opening is welcome news for the thousands of residents who already call some of Downtown Markham’s award-winning townhomes and condominiums home. The same, of course, is true of countless others whose offices are located in the rapidly growing 243-acre mixed use development.
