About the Performers:
Patricia Duffy Trio
Born and raised in suburban Toronto, Canada, Patricia found herself reluctantly entertaining her parents' friends and family on the piano whenever they'd stop by. But what she found sometimes tedious in childhood, she returned to as a teenager, when she discovered an Elton John music book. From this, she began playing her favourite tunes, by both sight and ear. It is on the piano as an adult that she has written over one hundred songs.
DRUMHAND was founded by percussionists David Chan, Larry Graves and Steve Mancuso in 2008, combining the circuitous rhythms of warm climates with the jazz-imbued horn work of Marcus Ali and Rebecca Hennessy.Fusing the energy of New Orleans parade bands and the uplifting spirit of American Roots Music, DRUMHAND is becoming increasingly known for their innovative, dynamic performances.
AJ Ing Trio
The AJ Ing Trio performs various styles of music ranging from Swing, Blues, Funk to Latin. The trio has been very active in the Toronto, Mississauga and Oakville areas. Perform jazz standards at various restaurants and corporate events. As Rob Reed, the musical director at Cucci Restaurant states, “I appreciate their professionalism and ability to read the room and entertain our guests as hosts rather than as stars.”
ZIMZUM has a core quartet including Ian Lazarus on alto sax and tenor sax, Colin Flint on bass guitar, Jay Danley on guitars and Ilios Steryannis on drums. The group expands depending on the performances.
Born in Hong Kong and grew up in Toronto, Canada, Roger Chong is an award winning jazz guitarist, composer and educator who had garnered critical acclaim and praise for his work, as showcased in his five self-produced albums thus far. His quartet's latest album, Funkalicious, was nominated for a Toronto Independent Music Award and won a Silver Medal at the Global Music Awards, which is not surprising considering the popularity it has received from radio stations in both Canada and the US.
Cat Bernardi Quintet
With a voice that is 'crystalline' and a style that is 'timeless,' Cat Bernardi has been performing on stages all around the GTA for just under a decade. This two time MARTY award nominee for Best Music Artist will dazzle you with her melodic originals and refreshing takes on beloved jazz classics and current top 40 hits. Cat will be joined onstage by Toronto's finest musicians who, with her, will colour the air and set the scene for an unforgettable evening of music.
